It provides higher creep, intergranular corrosion, and stress rupture resistance. Tantalum and columbium are added to stabilize stainless steel 347 seamless buttweld fittings in opposition to chromium carbide installation.
SS 347H Welded Butt Weld Pipe Fittings have greater corrosion resistance in strongly oxidizing environments. Almost all conventional fusion and resistance welding techniques work well for welding alloy 347 pipe fittings. However, this alloy is not recommended for oxyacetylene welding. After being exposed to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 427 ℃ to 816 ℃, stainless steel 347 butt weld fittings are a stable alloy that offers exceptional resistance to corrosion. Forged coupling made of stainless steel UNS34700 is better suited for usage in aqueous and low-temperature environments and is not susceptible to pitting corrosion in oil and gas refineries. Due to their ease of welding, annealing, and high tensile strength, SS 347H Screwed-Threaded Equal Tees are used in boilers, pressure vessels, furnaces, furnace heating equipment, and thermowells.
